I got tagged

So...thanks to Martini, I got tagged. I feel a little bit like a kid getting my first chain letter. Oh the excitement. I mean really, what would happen if I didn't do it? Would more of my hair fall out? Probably. Since I can't afford to lose more hair and I certainly don't want to look more like Martini, here goes.

If you could have any one — and only one — bike in the world, what would it be?
I'm riding it now, only I might consider making it out of titanium.

Do you already have that coveted dream bike? If so, is it everything you hoped it would be? If not, are you working toward getting it? If you’re not working toward getting it, why not?
I don't like the question. THAT is singular. Even though I answered the above question, how about Do you already have any coveted dream bikes? I have many dream bikes. But yes, I do have THAT bike. I'll just pick one of THOSE dream bikes.

This one.

Or this one.

Or this one.

Or this one.

Ok, I feel better now.

If you had to choose one — and only one — bike route to do every day for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? I'm having a tough time committing to all these questions with "one" in them. So.....I guess I'll describe my current commute to work, with two big difference. Currently, my commute is about 20-25 miles each way depending on route. My favorite route is a mix of road, gravel, & dirt single track. It's also got options to add dirt to it since there are offshoots on the MN River Valley and it also goes right by Lebanon Hills mountain bike trail. The two big differences are: Add some Hills/Mountains and no more itch weed/nettles. That would give me 50 miles per day.

What kind of sick person would force another person to ride one and only one bike ride for the rest of her / his life? Us. Bike geeks. We always seek the one ride. One bike. One this. Yet, we never find it. If we do, we'd likely force it on the rest of the world.

Do you ride both road and mountain bikes? If both, which do you prefer and why? If only one or the other, why are you so narrow minded? I ride both. That said, I prefer riding dirt because I don't like or trust automobiles on the same paths/roads as I am riding. If there were no cars, I'd ride road A LOT MORE than I currently do.

Have you ever ridden a recumbent? If so, why? If not, describe the circumstances under which you would ride a recumbent? Yes. I've ridden more than one. The first experience with them was when the HPV championships were here in Mpls. I was in engineering school at the U of MN. I was asked to try racing in a full fairing recumbent. I tried it, but it just didn't work out and did not end up racing.

Have you ever raced a triathlon? If so, have you also ever tried strangling yourself with dental floss? No.

Suppose you were forced to either give up ice cream or bicycles for the rest of your life. Which would you give up, and why? Stupid question so I'll pass on answering this one.

What is a question you think this questionnaire should have asked, but has not? Also, answer it. What hobby or passion could pull you or overtake your love of bikes if given enough time, money or resources and support from your significant other. Photography. No question. I'd love to commit myself to photography. I still remember taking photography in college. I think it was the first quarter (We were on quarters back then) that I did not build a new bike.

OK....I'm calling out Mahokey and Gersib and Elvis down under.

I "own" a road bike. But i mainly ride a) dirt and b) a mtn bike on he road (when i do ride it) anyway

I've ridden a Greenspeed trike. Absolute blast. And I've even considered owning one. (but probably won't)

never. While I can swim better than most folks... I can't run to save my life.

Suppose you were forced to either give up ice cream or bicycles for the rest of your life. Which would you give up, and why?

uh oh... can I have ice cream if I ride twice as much?

what is the answer to life, the universe and everything?
