Amazing Canyonlands

Our journey into the Canyonlands began with a very tough and long downhill called the Flint Trail. One rider stayed with Skippy to help him navigate with his 4-Runner. While I love riding, it turned out to be a pretty cool task. I had never seen 4 wheeling, or crawling, before. I could not believe what Skippy was navigating.

Once we got down the Flint Trail, we headed for the Maze district. In the process of riding, we ended up creating a new game. Many jeep roads look like two singletracks flowing side by side. Our game consisted of riding and racing side by side. You couldn't change lanes to the other side to avoid rocks or to avoid whatever obstacle in your track. Turns out, it usually ended up being pretty even. One rider would get way ahead and then hit some rough stuff and the other track would catch up. We had so much fun that day.

We ended up camping at a great spot. Other than the kangaroo mouse that got in Skippy's truck, the night was calm and beautiful. That evening, we hiked out to the famous Anasazi pictograph "Harvest Scene".

With that, I'll leave you with some of my favorite pictures of Canyonlands.

If you ever have a chance to see the Harvest Scene in person, it is well worth the effort.
