Go for a ride with me

I've finally done it. I've finally created my own blog. I've been an active blogger on my employers blog for some time. That's work though and it's pretty well known what you can and can't say while on the company dime. Well, no more. I'm doing my own thing.

Why now? Well, on my 38th birthday, my wife and I went to see "Into the Wild". I loved the movie, but I'll save that for another time. After the movie, she said "Wow, there are quite a few similarities between that movie and what you did after college." This lead to some very fun and long conversations about sharing my stories with our kids. I realized that I really do need to write some of this stuff down so that it doesn't disappear from my memory by the time my kids might be interested. Since I'm a blog reading junkie, I decided to write them down here instead of in a typical journal.


What's this blog about? Well, the first thing I'll say is that it won't be about my job. I write about that at work and for work. This isn't the place. This is a blog about 2 wheeled adventures and how the bicycle influenced my life and my choices. It's who I am. It will also be a place for me to talk about things that I can't or won't talk about on my employer's blog.
